Biography - Anna Meijn
Anna Meijn is a colorful and pragmatic Dutch born artist living in New Zealand. Anna is passionately in love with nature, wildlife, travelling, good people, great music and riding Harley Davidsons. Her lifelong passion for Harley Davidson motorcycles has led her to creating paintings about motorcycles, their riders and their lifestyle. Always in for lots of laughs, interesting stories, and bike rides to discover new places, she weaves her passions, her perception of freedom and beauty, her rebelliousness and her love of life into her paintings with color, movement and a smile. Her focus is on making the viewer feel that they are part of the story she is creating with paint. The titles of her paintings add to the ambience and setting as she sources them from the music she was listening to and loves while creating the piece.
Born during the iconic, eclectic, vibrant and liberating Flower Power era with its wealth of creative thinking, musical diversity and the rise of incredibly talented musicians, it is only natural that some of that rubbed off on Anna as she grew up.
In 2003 and following years she received multiple scholarships for 'promising talent' at the Learning Connexion in Wellington, New Zealand. She graduated with an Honors Diploma in Art and Creativity in 2007.
Anna captures the essence of motorcycles, their riders and the biker lifestyle in oil, acrylic, pastel or watercolor of the best quality material available. She often incorporates symbolism in her paintings.
She can be found painting in her Dragontrail Studio in New Zealand or armed with her camera on one of her Harley Davidsons on the road to new adventures or at rallies and bike shows in the USA, Europe and New Zealand.
Anna Meijn's work is held in many corporate and private collections all over the world, from New Zealand to Africa, from Europe to Canada and of course in the United States of America.
